Liz Phair - The WCSE Sessions

As promised, here are more goodies from the sessions for Liz' third album, whitechocolatespaceegg. No real updates to the story so this is primarily downloadable content, but I'm sure you'll find it just as intriguing. Of course, if you want to learn more about the circumstances behind whitechocolatespaceegg you can always check my earlier post here.

To note, the first download in this post is the first disc of a fan assembled collection known as The WCSE Sessions and consists of demos and early versions of songs recorded for the album. The second disc consisted of the original version of the album and three tracks released on the Japanese edition of the album. I've included all of these items in one rar for your convenience and, if you want to replicate the order of the fan assembled collection, just include the original version of the album as disc two with the three Japanese tracks appearing directly afterward. Also, an incredibly detailed text file is included in the rar with information on the sources for all of these recordings. Much credit to the author of that file and those responsible for collecting these recordings as they went far beyond the call of duty!

The second download is the whitechocolatespaceegg Demos and Outtakes collection. It's a bit redundant but I thought some people might find it interesting. Supposedly around 1996, although it's a bit difficult to confirm it, this collection of early demos and sessions from whitechocolatespaceegg showed up online between traders and fans of Liz, although something tells me it might have been a few years after that. These tracks are a bit rougher, far less polished and some of the versions repeat themselves, but a lot of these versions aren't contained in The WCSE Sessions collection so I thought I should share it as is.

ANOTHER NOTE: These are the oldest circulating tracks from the WCSE era. Some of these versions repeat themselves so don't be surprised if you hear something that sounds suspiciously familiar. This is here more for completion purposes than anything else as many of these tracks appear in the above collection. The first fifteen tracks are supposed to be four-track demos while the second fifteen are more fleshed out studio takes. The acoustic demos sound great!
