This week in 1908, 1945

Every weekend JOBC goes back in time to the last year the Cubs won the World Series (1908) and the National League Pennant (1945).

This week in 1908, former President Grover Cleveland dies, Chicago police crack down on the notorious red light district, and the Cubs lose a game as they argue with umpire while the winning run crosses the plate.

This week in 1945, Errol Flynn celebrates a birthday, Paul Harvey goes to ABC, and the Cubs move into second place after winning five in a row.
