Jack Herrera - Retro Futuristo
Jack Herrera is a group Jon B. and two of his backup singers, Dominiquinn and Silky Deluxe, formed around 97 or 98 with the intent of bringing some very soulful music to the masses. From what I've read the record was supposed to come out on Dreamworks, but with that label dying a rancid death and many of it's artists not being able to retain their recordings, it's no surprise that Jack Herrera's sole album, Retro Futuristo, remains buried under a mountain of legal paperwork that is likely never to be lifted.
There isn't much else I could find regarding Jack Herrera online, other than two of their songs, Free To Believe and High Off You, did see official releases on the soundtrack to Light It Up and the Red Star Sounds Vol. 1 comp, respectively. I'll openly admit I know nothing about Jon B., but I may be doing some research soon because this is some sweet stuff!

PS - The reason the photo I used looks cut up is because will.i.am was in it but he wasn't part of the group. That said, I HATE the Black Eyed Peas and I think will.i.am is the most overblown excuse for a music producer these days. HE SUCKS! And Fergie is so awful I wish someone would put her out of her misery.
Okay, episode of extreme negativity is now over.
