Swimsuit - Swimsuit LP

And when I thought that it can't get any better it does. This morning I discovered one of those rare musical gems that you can listen to over and over again. It got me by surprise but I instantly got hooked to it. It's the kind of thing that makes my day. Anyway I got an email from Blair Amberly of the Charlottesville, VA-based indie label Speakertree Records about the upcoming Swimsuit self-titled debut album due to be released on the 28th of June.
Swimsuit is this wonderful four-piece indie-pop/post-punk band from Ypsilanti, MI, that combines catchy indie-pop tunes fused with some really wonderful vocals and all that engulfed by surf-driven melodies. Although predominantly surf-inspired there can felt a slight nod to punk in their music. The male and female vocals blend perfectly with the melodic guitar riffs into a piece of music that can easily be part of you summer soundtrack. Swimsuit's brand of upbeat music is a sweet reminder of the hot, summer days and breezy beach nights. If you get the album which I recommend, you'll find ten excellent songs that are sure to get you in the right mood for the summer. If you like their music I'll encourage you to download for free the two songs kindly provided by Blair Amberly, "Mongoose" and "Sunlight", two great tracks that will make you wanna get your surfboard and catch every possible wave. It's that kind of music that brightens my mood for days to come.
P.S.: also check the other wonderful musical act behind Speakertree Records, Cloud Nothings, another super-catchy indie-pop/punk-pop band that is already making waves in the blogosphere.

Bos Angeles

We are young, we are free
Keep our teeth nice and clean
See our friends, see the sights
Feel alright

Well today I accidentally stumbled upon a song which reminded me of the above few lines from Supergrass' "Alright". The song in question is "Days Of Youth" and it brought memories of summer and careless days. To be honest the whole demo which you can hear below is filled with the essence if youth and the feeling of freedom. These lads from England make music that fuses catchy pop tunes with some surf vibes and all that is complemented with some really good lo-fi post-rock noises. This is the kind of music that will make your summer experience well worth it.

Chains Of Love

Here's a very nice six-piece surf/garage-rock band from Vancouver, Canada. So far only one release but nevertheless a good one. Think of them as a modern version of The Ronnettes or The Shangri-la’s and they kinda remind me of Davila 666 who visited Bulgaria last year. For some free stuff check their bandcamp page.

The Good The Bad

Denmark. Most people know the country because of Hans Christian Andersen, Lars von Trier, Roskilde Festival and that "Barbie Girl" song. Most people are unlikely to learn more during their lifetime. And that my dear friends will be a huge mistake. Because Denmark has given to the world some damn good musicians such as The Raveonettes, Junior Senior and Trentemøller. Truth is that Denmark has a lot more to offer than that. What I mean? Read below.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Good The Bad.

What is The Good The Bad? TGTB is the music you listen to while shaggin' that skanky girlfriend of yours. It's the soundtrack to your orgasm. It's the essence of sex itself. Seriously guys TGTB it's the best thing to accompany your spunk shootout. Because Brown and Hendrix are just obsolete and all others are... well not TGTB.
Who are The Good The Bad? three fellas neither just good, nor bad but definitely not ugly. Three guys with firm roots in the danish indie-rock and pop scene.
Why The Good The Bad? TGTB are three motherfuckers from Copenhagen that sound like something between the surf bands of the '60 and The Cramps. I can imagine a future baby-boom happening to their songs. And it's quite possible given the fact that this music is just perfect for sex. This is music for sex and if you want proof watch the video below while giving your right hand a break:
