WISH LIST

I've been considering several avenues for the site and I keep coming back to the idea of adding a forum, though I haven't a clue how I'd start or moderate it. Regardless, the idea is still in my head and it'll probably happen eventually, but I've also been thinking about what albums people would love to see leak. Of course I'm not talking about music that will be eventually released, I'm only talking about records that seem destined to collect dust in some record company vault. A great example is the Zach de la Rocha record, an album with production from Trent Reznor, El-P, DJ Shadow, Muggs and a who's who cast of hip-hop producers. It was apparently delivered to Sony for release but nothing has been seen or heard of it since. I would assume, based on de la Rocha's comments, that he decided for it not to be released, although I'd imagine Sony, after sinking all that money into it, would have the final word regarding it's release status.

Anyway, I want to make a wish list of albums that people would love to hear that seem to have disappeared from release schedules or the public consciousness. You can reply to this post, send me e-mails, whatever you want to do, but let me know what you're hoping gets an official release or leaks. Hell, an officially sanctioned version of the Beach Boys' version of Smile will be issued later this summer, and if that can happen I suppose anything can.

Tapeworm - unreleased album
Liz Phair - Girly Sound Tape #3
Beck - Midnite Vultures Part 2
Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine: The Jon Brion Version
Frank Zappa - The Complete Roxy Performances
Prince - EVERYTHING HE'S SITTING ON, but the proper Camille album is at the top of my list.
My Bloody Valentine - unreleased follow-ups to Loveless

There are many more albums that occupy my consciousness which haven't seen release yet, but it's not quite 6:30 in the morning so forgive me but my brain isn't fully on yet. This list will be updated over time though.

By the way, I've been talking with R.U. Sirius and he did a great interview with me about Mondo Vanilli that will probably be posted in late May. It will coincide with an event that he's planning, but more will be shared as everything gets finalized. That said, R.U. Sirius is cool as hell, as are Mondo Vanilli, a group which people will know more about in the near future!
