Main details for the big day (all times are London time):

On the morning of the wedding the 1,900 guests will begin arriving at Westminster Abbey at 8.30am – a full two hours and a half before the ceremony is scheduled to begin.

Before Kate makes her entrance in a Fifties Rolls Royce owned by the Queen, the royals will have arrived and taken their seats.

They (the Royals) are expected to arrive between 10.40am and 10.50am, with the Queen and Prince Philip arriving last.

Kate and her father will leave their hotel at 10.50am and travel down past Buckingham Palace, along the Mall and turn right at Trafalgar Square into Whitehall. They will then head into Parliament Square and turn right to Westminster Abbey.

Kate will make her grand entrance, and the ceremony will last for an hour and 15 minutes.

At 12:15pm the newlyweds will leave the Abbey and retrace Kate's journey in a royal coach. Following them will be four ceremonial coaches filled with senior royals and Kate's parents.

At 1:25pm on April 29 the newlyweds will emerge on the balcony at Buckingham Palace for their first appearance as man and wife.
