My Bloody Valentine - Loom: Live In Vancouver 1992
This is an incredibly clear recording of MBV live in 1992, touring for Loveless. While the whole thing is great, the high point is the seventeen minute finale of You Made Me Realise, where the band goes into one of their legendary noise freak-outs and scares the crowd shitless. You should read Mike McGonigal's excellent contribution to the 33 1/3 series which is all about Loveless and features lots of interviews with Kevin, everyone else in the band, Guy Fixsen, other interesting folks from the Valentine's circle and a stripper who danced to Sometimes. Seriously. It's an awesome book and it talks about the mind altering experience that You Made Me Realise is live. This recording probably doesn't do it justice, but it's a great example of how unique Kevin Shields and My Bloody Valentine are live.
Tune in tomorrow for post number three, the contents of which should keep everyone entertained for the weekend!
