Kashiwa Daisuke - 5 Dec.
I hate to say this, but I know practically nothing about the amazing Kashiwa Daisuke. His records aren't available in the US and may not be available anywhere else outside of Japan for all I know. I found a brief bio for him at TheSirensSound blog and he has his own beautiful website you should check out, but much else, at least in english, is hard to come by. My addition to this small assortment of data will be to describe his music like that of a classical Richard Devine or Autechre. Tracks like Red Moon are hauntingly beautiful and don't feature a lick of distorted electronics, whereas it's follow-up on the album, Requiem, is a masterpiece of noise, chopped-up audio, delays and rhythms. I can't help but think of some kind of ultra-violent mechanized warfare when I hear it and it doesn't relent. And the rest of 5 Dec. continues to shock, amaze and confuse without showing you it's cards. Simply incredible stuff!
As this album isn't readily available for purchase in the US or much of anywhere else as far as I am aware, I will be sharing it with you for download. That said, if you can purchase this album or anything else by the fabulous Mr. Daisuke, please do and support his endeavors. On top of that, on the rare chance Mr. Daisuke or someone from his party is reading this, if you would like me to delete the download from this post please drop me a line and I will be more than happy to do so. All I want to do is spread the word of Mr. Daisuke's work, not rip him off.
