Problems is a Norwegian hardcore punk band from Oslo that plays fast and angry hardcore influenced by bands such as Negative Approach, Adolescents, Void. You can hear their 2009 demo as well as the new song "Snake Oil" and grab them for free.

Ulver - "England"

Here's something interesting I stumbled upon. A norwegian black metal band turned experimental/electronic. The band's Ulver and they just released a brand new song, "England" from their eight studio album Wars Of the Roses. Really dark and melancholy song but I like it.

Ето нещо интересно на което се натъкнах по случайност. Норвежка блек-метъл група, която драстично променя стила си на експериментално-електронен. Бандата се казва Ulver и първите им три албума са действително блек-метъл и съставляват цяла трилогия, но след това групата решава, че призванието им не е да правят скандинавски блек-метъл, повлиян от местният фолклор, а по-скоро да експериментират с нови и различни музикални стилове, в търсене на истинския си музикален облик. Така от 1998г. досега групата постоянно променя своя звук в рамките на пет албума. Характерно за новия албум Wars Of the Roses от който е и песента "England" е, че е доста мрачен и меланхоличен и по скандинавски странен. Но това в никакъв случай не го прави по-малко интересен.

Death Is Not Glamorous - "Invincible Summer"

Originally Against The Odds was conceived as a punk/ska/hardcore blog but lately it's everything but punk/hardcore. Truth is that I got interested in alot and different things, some new, some old. But to be honest I've never forgot my one and only passion - punk/hardcore music. It's true that I didn't have much punk or hardcore stuff to write about this month but this doesn't mean that I'll completely ignore this kind of music. On the contrary. Today I got something that will appeal much to y'all. Lately I've been into lots of scandinavian music and I'm sure it was noticed. Well this post won't be any different. The band concerned in this case is Death Is Not Glamorous from Oslo, Norway. Fast hardcore punk influenced by the likes of Shelter, Saves The Day and Turning Point. Well they're gonna release their second album Spring Forward via Dead & Gone Records and they just released a new single off that album titled "Invincible Summer". I think it's pretty good one. Keep an eye for the album too.
