Amiina

Here's the streaming of the debut and second albums from icelandic post-rock band Amiina. I personally like both albums. I really love what comes from Iceland (except for that volcano ashes). I think fans of Sigur Rós will appreciate this.

Ruth Koleva - Within Whispers

Ruth Koleva, the bulgatian soul/r&b singer is already well-known here in Bulgaria. Not only because she's super-talented and has a great voice, but also because she competed in the bulgarian Eurovision where she didn't qualify for the finals in Düsseldorf. Her song "Fever" was great but was not appreciated by the jury. I personally think that she doesn't need such musical forums to exhibit her enormous talent because she's way too good for that. Anyways last month Ruth Koleva released her anticipated debut album. Really damn good one if you ask me.

Jesu - Ascension

Jesu's fourth studio album's been out for a month now. I've been listening to Ascension for some time now and I have to say that it's different from what I expected to hear. It still got this melange of electronica and shoegaze, the long and repeatable tone clusters and the lengthy epicness of a good ambient album, but it's somehow different. Jesu's distinctive electronic sound has taken a back seat and in the forefront is music that makes use of more guitars and drumming that of electronic elements. Other thing I noticed is that the overall tone of the album is rather gloomy for the exception of probably "Sedatives" which is kinda upbeat compared to the rest. Don't get me wrong. The album is good but it takes time to get used to it. Probably you won't fall for it from first listen. Still check it out.

Beastie Boys To Drop New Album In May

Well I'm sure that fans of those three heard about it months ago but as we all know there's always someone who just missed the big news. So here it is: NYC hip-hop veterans Beastie Boys are set to release their eight studio album titled "Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2" which was initially called Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1 but due to Adam "MCA" Yauch's health problems it was postponed and later it was decided to be released as Pt.2 with a slightly changed tracklist. As for the original material which was to be included in the real Pt.2 it will be released somewhere in the future as Pt.1 of the same musical project. The very first single released from this album is "Too Many Rappers" with Nas. Album drops on May the 3rd. Meanwhile Adam "MCA" Yauch will release his new short film entitled "Fight For Your Right Revisited" re-imagining the story that follows after the events in the original music video. The film features a whole cast of famous actors including the main three Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood & Danny McBride. This threesome is also part of Beastie Boys's brand new video for "Make Some Nose" which you can watch here.
