Prince - Jam Of The Year / Face Down: NYC Live 1/11/97

Enormous thanks going out to Derek for mailing me this tape (and a bunch of others) for me to rip and share for everyone out there.

This is an official cassette release that Prince was selling at shows, online and by phone in '97. I don't remember exactly how much he was asking for it, but I'd guess somewhere between $15 and $25. Pretty ridiculous for a two-track cassette. It's even got some hiss on it which I remember Prince advertised to make it seem like an authentic bootleg, though the overall sound of these two tracks is wonderful and there is no mistaking this for anything other than an official soundboard recording. Full scans of the j-card are included for you to peruse.

To everyone that has written me over the last week or so that I haven't responded to yet, I promise to write you back this weekend! I'm sorry I've been a little slow recently, but my new job has left me rather worn-out when I get home. That said, there won't be another Prince Homemade Deluxe Edition for this coming week, rather you'll see it on the 21st of this month. It'll be a single-disc edition of For You.

The Time - Corporate World

During the early stages of Graffiti Bridge, Prince decided to get Morris Day back in the picture with the intention of including The Time in the film, at least in name. Morris and Prince proceeded to record an album of new Time songs and named it Corporate World. Warner Bros., being the people funding the Graffiti Bridge project, wisely decided that Morris' presence wasn't nearly enough to constitute a Time reunion and they wouldn't proceed unless a full-blown, legitimate reunion were to occur. With that, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Jesse Johnson, Monte Moir and Jellybean Johnson were brought back in the fold and it was decided that the songs recorded for Corporate World that appeared in the film would be relegated to the soundtrack album with the rest of the songs either appearing alongside newly written and recorded pieces or shelved altogether.

The reunited Time album, Pandemonium, would be half written and completed by The Time themselves, with the other half being Prince produced and primarily created. Technically speaking, this is the closest The Time ever came to recording a proper album of their own performances, as the majority of their first three albums are simply Prince and Morris in the studio. It's a pretty great effort, but it's no surprise that it doesn't sound like a traditional Time album, what with Prince's presence diminished, whereas Corporate World sounds more like a Prince album built around Morris' image and personality. It's pretty great too, with four unreleased tracks, a number of alternate versions and only one track unchanged from its final release. The big items of note are the wonderful Murph Drag, an upbeat number about a dance only people with money can do, 9 Lives, a slower groover initially intended for Prince-protege, Cat, and finally the title track, an ode to reinvesting in the community and improving the world. There is also a completely different recording of The Latest Fashion, done instead as Morris telling a deceitful lover "what time it is" to a Prince-stylized version of a James Brown rhythm. The rest of the songs are relatively unchanged from their released versions with Release It remaining identical to the version on the Graffiti Bridge album.

Corporate World would have been a worthy album for release, although the majority of it has seen the light of day. Even Murph Drag received a pseudo-release as part of a radio show Prince held for the NPG Music Club. That said, it was replaced by the superior Pandemonium so you can't say it remains unreleased for a dumb reason like so much of Prince's vault recordings does. What I wouldn't give for the keys to that big door, and not only would you find racks of unreleased Prince songs, you'd find even more unreleased Time material. Hopefully one day we'll get to hear those recordings too.

Prince - Peach & Black: The Camille Anthology

No real liner notes to be had for this one, at least not yet. The important details are that the main Camille album, the first eight tracks of disc one, apart from Rebirth Of The Flesh is vinyl sourced and, in my humble opinion, sounds much better than the flat CD version I'd assembled previously. Otherwise, the outtakes are taken from Work It 2.0, the remixes and b-sides from T's 12" Archive and the rest from official releases ripped or transferred by myself. The first disc is PURE Camille, whereas the second disc is where some fans say some of the tracks don't count, but I included everything that may or may not be a Camille track. In fact, the only thing I didn't bother to include was Erotic City, cited by many as the first appearance of the Camille voice, but as Camille doesn't sing lead or share the lead vocals with Prince I didn't feel it counted.

Anyway, purists should love the first disc, and those who will give Prince's later stuff a chance will enjoy the second disc as well which features Camille tracks from the late eighties all the way to the last few years. Enjoy!

PS - Is that not the ugliest cover ever? Printed the U Got The Look cover in black and white, tore off some paper to cover the name, wrote the new title with a sharpie, crumpled the whole thing, scanned it in, adjusted the colors in Photoshop and saved it as an almost 4 meg file. UGLY!

Monie Love - In A Word Or 2

What the hell happened Monie Love? Your first album, the wonderful Down To Earth, was awash in Native Tongues positive vibes and sweet production from Afrika Baby Bam and FYC, giving it a retro sound while staying totally funky and danceable. Your rhymes were intelligent and well put, giving the perspective of a conscious young woman who was on the right track. So why did you decide to record an album with skeezy rap songs like Wheel Of Fortune and Greasy? Was it in the plan to record sappy R&B with Prince? Why is the best song on the album a holdover from the Class Act soundtrack of all things? These are all questions I've never heard the answers to, nor do I expect answers, but it's an interesting example of how artists, scenes and careers can change over the course of three short years, which is all it was between 1990 and 1993.

Record label politics were most likely part of the problem for Monie as the US and UK versions of the album, while featuring mostly the same tracks, had their sides flipped for unspecified reasons, although it was probably a regional detail. In the UK you get the positive, conscious tracks first, starting with the commercial house of Full Term Love, followed by the R&B-tinged Born 2 B.R.E.E.D., the first of two collaborations with Prince, and after that the title cut, a quiet-storm love jam with Monie whisper-speaking the lyrics. Full Term Love, while dated as hell, is still catchy and bouncy, whereas the Prince tracks are of that generic era when he seemed to give songs to anyone with a pulse. It's worth noting that Monie contributed lyrics to Carmen Electra's Prince-produced album, notably Everybody Get On Up which contains the suspect lyric "My name is Carmen Electra and I ain't in the middle". The rest of this side are songs about improving the world and blah blah blah. Nothing wrong with saving the world, but who wants to drive around listening to it? As if Swiney Swiney wasn't bad enough.

The other side of the album, definitely the focus in the US, is an attempt at purely American hip-hop stylings with Marley Marl providing the beats, but it comes off like Monie is a split personality rather than a strong, independent woman. Wheel Of Fortune finds her looking for a man although she already seems ready to turn down every option coming her way. Not saying that ignoring the drug dealer is a bad idea but still, there isn't a positive view to the song at all. Greasy finds her backpedaling only to start giving passes to men with no game that have tons of cash. She does all of this without giving the listener a moment to catch their breath as the choruses are quickly repeated phrases and there is practically no dead space until the end of the track, giving them the feel that she picked a few cuts from one of Marley's beat tapes and just kept rhyming till the record was done. What passes as hooks couldn't survive in any listening environment. Some tracks are better than others, with Sex U All being a funky attack on a rumor spreading woman scheming to take her man, but overall the hard stuff feels soft.

Whatever the reasons behind Monie's split-personality, her label people, at least in the US, did a crap job of promoting her. Check out the astonishingly awful cover art! I'd love to know who gets the blame for it and what Monie thought about it at the time. The album was also promoted with the infinitely ridiculous tag line, "This Mother Wears Combat Boots!" (see page 159 of ego trip's Book Of Rap Lists for this and other ridiculous, no bonus this year, first at the unemployment line, Lyor Cohen won't return your calls examples). This album's failure effectively ended Monie's rap career with her returning to DJ status on radio and MTV's Lip Service. She didn't record again until around the end of the decade. Monie can be great but I have no idea what went wrong here. If you want to hear the Prince songs or are a Marley Marl collector, grab this for completist reasons, but if you're hoping for classic Monie you're gonna be heartbroken. Monie, no hate here, we love you, come back and bring that classic flow with you!

Vanity 6 - Vanity 6: Homemade Deluxe Edition

Okay, we're taking a little time off from posting the Homemade Deluxe Editions of Prince's albums, though we will be picking up where we left off on May 3rd. We've got a three disc version of Graffiti Bridge in the works (THANKS SEAN!) and there is a lot more coming very soon. That said, don't worry about the site because we'll keep posting like normal. During this time I'm going to start assembling the additional content for the revised version of The Paul's Boutique Companion and The Thriller Companion, with more information to come soon. There is another project in the works that will get posted soon, but I'm going to stay mum on that one because I haven't quite figured out how to approach it best yet. Oh yeah, drop in Friday for the third volume of the DJ Shadow rarities which will include the FLAC versions, and next week I'll be posting a few albums in FLAC that have been requested. Prince Covers Project Re-Announcement

Just in case you missed it the first time, which is quite possible as it was buried within another large announcement, I wanted to take a moment to make sure everyone is aware of a project I'm trying to get under way.

IFM Records will be curating a Prince covers collection completely consisting of new recordings of unreleased Prince songs. ANYONE CAN PARTICIPATE! I don't care if you record the songs in a soul style, a doo-wop style, a hip-hop style, a punk style, a noise style or whatever, just as long as you put your soul into it and the Prince song you cover has never seen an official release. There are a few songs that are already spoken for so please write me and I'll confirm if a song is still available or not.

The compilation will be featured at The Unheard Music and There Are No Kings for free download and that's the only way I'll be featuring it. Since we're not asking permission to cover these songs no one can really charge for them, but apart from featuring them in the compilation you can do whatever you want with your recordings, so post them on your own sites, put them in mixtapes, whatever, just as long as no one is asking money for the recordings.

If anyone has any questions, please drop me a line and we can discuss things in further detail. Otherwise, please let me know if you're interested in participating. We'd love to have you on board!

Updates/Announcements

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop in and note some happenings and make an announcement or two.

1) All of the interviews I've recently mentioned are coming soon. David Williams and I are talking regularly and he's providing further details about the recording sessions for Crazy Wisdom Masters. We're taking things a bit slowly because there is some potentially huge news around the corner regarding the Jungle Brothers, but we'll wait on discussing that. When the interview is posted I will be uploading a lossless copy of The Payback EP and some other JB's ephemera from that era which I'm sure everyone will enjoy. Really good stuff and all from excellent quality sources!

2) I've shared a few e-mails with Steinski and I'll be posting a brief interview with him soon. He told me it's alright with him to share his rarer remixes and tracks that he isn't selling on his site so I'm going to try to get a very thorough compilation of his works that aren't featured on What Does It All Mean? together.

3) If everything goes right I'll be conducting a brief interview with Alex "XXXChange" Epton on Wednesday night. I'll try to get that interview up as soon as possible. We'll be discussing his new project, Win Win, and I'm going to ask him about some of his previous collaborators like Amanda Blank and Spank Rock. If this interview doesn't happen I'll let you know, but it's on as of right now.

4) I've hinted that I've got a project I wanted to start for a while and here is the announcement: I want to curate a compilation of covers of unreleased Prince songs. I'm going to cover one myself but I really want to get a diverse set of musicians who would like to participate. This is going to be a free project, there is no money involved whatsoever and no permission has been given to cover these songs, but you're free to do whatever you want with your recordings when we're done. My intention is to post these tracks as a free download in lossless FLAC and MP3 formats. I'd like to get them online by this summer but I don't know if that's possible. Regardless, I've got a number of songs I can send you to sample from if you'd like, so if you're interested please drop me an e-mail. You can find my e-mail address in my Blogger Profile.

5) I've got more backlogged stuff to post but I've also got a pile of Warner Bros. comps that I want to share. At this point I believe I have all of the Trademark Of Quality compilations and several other bizarre promotional use collections and I intend to post them all in the next week or two. It probably sounds kinda dull but they're all pretty cool and most of them have a lot of otherwise unavailable tracks.

6) I'm starting a project with some friends called the edits. It's kind of a band but not really. We're not just about music, but that's mostly what we're working on now. I've got another site that is dedicated to the edits and it will be updated with stuff to check out as it becomes available. Regarding our sound, we don't really have a firm direction, although if pressed I'd say it's punk-hip-hop-noise-balladry, or at least that's the spirit of what we're doing. I'm making beats occasionally and it'll later be decided whether there is singing, rapping, chanting, noise or whatever atop them. Just for kicks, I might follow through on a threat and make the Metal Machine Mixtape, a tribute of sorts to Lou Reed's album, albeit with more humor than you'll find in the source material. More details to come.

7) Anyone know how I might go about presenting a television project to potential collaborators or investors? Anyone know how to find potential investors? If you want to know more about this, whether you've got suggestions or just want to know what it's about, drop me an e-mail and we can talk. It's definitely not a normal television program by any standards.


There are other things going on but more will be said when the time is right. For now, the new job is going alright and it looks like a company I could definitely stay with for awhile. There are a few musical happenings I want to mention.

Craig Wedren, the lead singer for Shudder To Think and a frequent musical collaborator with The State, has a new record coming soon named Wand. It'll be accompanied by a short film of the same name which I believe will have videos for each song on the album, but don't quote me on that. If you head on over to his site you can learn more about the new record and see an extremely ambitious interactive video for the first song from the album, Are We. It's a 360 degree video and features A LOT of members The State. I love me some Shudder To Think and The State so this looks pretty sweet! Check it out at Craig's official website.

Also, I'm on pins and needles waiting for J Rocc's new record, Some Cold Rock Stuf, to be released! Play This Too is the first single and it's incredible! Seriously, check out the stream below:

The only one I can think of now though is Double Dee & Steinski's remix of Tony Touch's I Wonder Why? He's The Greatest DJ. Seriously, does anyone have that? PLEASE!?!?!?!?!

George Clinton - Hey Man... Smell My Finger

What the hell was wrong in Prince's camp? If you read my earlier post with the outtakes and roughs from this album, you know it was being recorded over the course of several years, primarily during the early nineties. I heard the roughs a long time before the album was released and commented openly at that time that they sounded mostly finished, what else could they do with them? Well, the finished album was worth the wait with the wonderful Hollywood, Maximumisness and Martial Law added and most of the previously leaked tracks reworked effectively. I had to get my father to drive me to a Camelot Music and pay an obscene fee for the CD but I was definitely satisfied. I never imagined George could improve upon those roughs so much with them being rather exceptional already.

Smell My Finger received good reviews and George went on tour with the family shortly thereafter, but upon Paisley Park shutting down the album disappeared and, apart from a brief appearance of Hollywood on the 1-800-NEW-FUNK CD, a comp that is also long out-of-print, the album was never reissued and is sitting in Prince's vault. Why Prince's vault? Despite Paisley Park being a primarily Warner Bros. funded operation, Prince retains ALL rights to any albums released upon that label barring his own works, which explains why some releases by The Time and Sheila E. are still available for purchase while others are not. Still doesn't explain why the Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6 albums aren't available but that should explain why artists like GC can't even get a digital release for Smell My Finger or The Cinderella Theory. Add to that Prince's assertion that "the internet is over" and you've almost got an open invitation to plunder the Paisley Park catalog.

Regarding Smell My Finger, George definitely had the whole P-Funk family on board as well as many others including Ice Cube, Yo-Yo, MC Breed, Kam, Digital Underground, Public Enemy and Dr. Dre. Dre only contributed a funny skit-like phone call that appears twice during Paint The White House Black and while Chuck D. and Flavor Flav are both audible during the track, interestingly enough their appearance is sampled from Tweakin' on The Cinderella Theory, a sample that is actually credited in the liner notes. Prince also receives a credit on the album, but not in the way you might have assumed. Initially there were rumors abounding that Prince would be a major contributor to the album. When the roughs leaked a lot of people thought they could hear the Princely influence and assumed it was fact, but when the finished album appeared Prince's name only appeared on one song, The Big Pump, an assumed leftover of sorts from Graffiti Bridge and easily the weakest song on the album. It sounds like Prince's idea of a cheap house track and is entirely rapped by George and another rapper whose voice, I'm embarrassed to say, I can't recognize. Hell, trying to figure out who does what on the album is near impossible as the liner notes aren't organized by tracks, they merely list everyone in an enormous pile. You can check the wikipedia reference for the full list but it doesn't help much. The only thing clear is who is credited for writing the songs and producing them. Flea and Anthony Kedis are listed as vocal contributors but picking them out of the mix is impossible, as is telling where Amp Fiddler's contributions are or much of anything else. Prince fans will recognize Eric Leeds and Atlanta Bliss on horns and Bootsy's bass pops up throughout but have fun guessing with the rest of it. Prince's name doesn't appear as an instrumental or vocal contributor to the album either, although George has openly stated that Prince is "all over that album", whatever that means.

It's rather surprising in retrospect that Warners didn't try to pick up George's contract with Paisley Park after that label folded, what with the positive press and a legitimately good album by an artist who was receiving a popular rebirth through modern production techniques, but they didn't and George would reappear in 96 on Sony with The Awesome Power Of A Fully Operational Mothership, a sleepy affair credited to himself and the P-Funk All-Stars. All in all the situation was a disappointment, but now just about anything with the Paisley Park logo on it is a collectors item and this is legitimately one of the best things released on the label alongside The Family and Jill Jones' self-titled debuts.

You'll also find the videos for Martial Law and Paint The White House Black embedded below though I don't think I'll ever need to see them again. The video for Martial Law is particularly bizarre, what with George in the middle of an all-ages house party that isn't in sync with the music, followed by Sir Nose and some riot police (LA cops?) storming the house looking for the funk. Despite the cops stomping like nazis they can't stay with the beat either, although I suppose you could say that might make sense. The most peculiar part of the video is a parody of the Rodney King beatings with the cops beating a boom box to bits, all caught on film by a robotic looking Flea. And you wonder why you didn't see it on MTV?

Miles Davis - The Last Word: The Warner Bros. Years

Despite the title, I don't have much to say about this because it's already been said elsewhere, but here are the important details. It's a four disc box set that Warner Bros. prepared for release in 2001 that was supposed to contain remastered versions of every Miles album they released, several soundtracks, multiple guest appearances and a healthy helping of unreleased studio and live recordings. Somewhere along the way though everything went to hell in a handbasket. It started with the set originally being six discs and including three Prince composed recordings, one co-performed by Prince. Prince, being the mind-bendingly confusing person that he is, decided to withhold permission for Warners to use those recordings. Other problems followed with Miles' estate and despite promos of the six disc version having been sent out the whole thing was edited down to four discs and the process began again. Warners pulled the plug on the box set for unspecified reasons and it ended up in limbo until someone leaked the whole thing a few years back, though Warners apparently was still trying to release some kind of lengthy retrospective of the portion of Miles' career they owned. That eventually happened last year when they issued a two disc collection named Perfect Way: The Miles Davis Anthology - The Warner Bros. Years, though it's essentially a two disc edit of the four disc version of The Last Word. Messy eh? Nonetheless, despite Miles' WB catalog never approaching the status of anything from his Columbia decades, it's really unfortunate that all those recordings were remastered and the majority will likely never see the light of day, at least not officially. With that said, below you'll find links to several important articles which will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about this collection, links to download the four disc version in V0 MP3 and a listing for where each track is taken from. I'll post this in lossless sometime next week, although I hadn't originally planned to do so since some of the material doesn't look purely uncompressed. It may be that this material was traded in MP3 and then compressed, though the quality of the source is still better than most MP3s. Nonetheless, this should keep you entertained for the weekend! The unreleased tracks are rather good too! Enjoy!

BONUS TRACK: Prince & Miles Davis - Can I Play With U? (Long Version)
This is the long version which leaked last year. It would have appeared on the six disc version of The Last Word and it is assumed to have been leaked by a Miles trader who had a test cd-r of that version of the box, although it sounds like it might have been processed via tape somewhere along the way.

I've been so busy in my personal life recently that a number of important things have been piling up. We're going to deal with a few of those things here and now, all of which are specific to you my readers!

I haven't given a schedule for the Prince Homemade Deluxe Editions because I've been kinda playing it be ear, but I've decided to get this down so I have a path to follow. Here is a tentative schedule for the IFM Records releases you can look forward to:

Next up, I've got an incredible interview which I'll be posting either next week or the week after. David Williams, one of the main producers if not THE MAIN PRODUCER for the Jungle Brothers' Crazy Wisdom Masters and J.Beez Wit The Remedy albums was cool enough to answer some of my questions and we're going to talk a little more before I write up the article, but it will answer a lot of questions about his involvement with the JB's, the album in general and lots of other things. David is a super cool guy and I'm sure everyone will be knocked out by how many details he's revealing!

Third, I received an interesting e-mail today from a British merchandising website. Apparently they're having a contest where 200 music blogs were chosen to make a Valentines mixtape. I'm not going to mention the website's name yet because this is unique for me. They want me to make this mixtape and if I get the most comments about it I can supposedly win some very nice prizes. Normally I'm not interested in taking part in such promotions but the prizes are VERY nice. That said, I'd like to know what the people who visit my website think about this. Would it be cool to participate? Could I beg you all to leave an obscene amount of positive comments and ask your friends to leave comments too? Would I be a complete heel for doing this? Seriously, if it doesn't sound good I won't take part but I want your opinions, so please leave me a comment here or send me an e-mail with your thoughts.

Finally, tomorrow I'll be posting three more discs worth of Head Automatica demos and roughs for their second album, Popaganda, and I'll be closing out the week by posting the unreleased, four disc Miles Davis box set Warner Bros. had intended for release in 2001, The Last Word. I was only going to post the unreleased tracks initially, but the entire set was remastered and those new masters haven't been released and may not be, so the whole thing is worth a look. Personally, I don't care for most of Miles' WB catalog, but the unreleased live tracks are nice and the Rubber Band tracks are rather good! WB didn't want him releasing that album and I kind of understand since I can't remember the last edgy jazz record WB has released in over thirty years (seriously, name one!), but in a strange way these tracks are very funky.

So please drop me a line, share your thoughts with me and I'll respond. Oh, one more thing, the above image is the cover I made for the HDE Purple Rain. I'm going to do a post eventually where I just post all the covers for anyone that wants to grab them all.


QUICK UPDATE: Thanks for all the positive responses guys! I've decided I'm not going to take part in their competition because certain things seem iffy. That said, I'll probably make a Valentine's Day mixtape anyway. It won't be anything mindblowing but it'll be my take on sweet songs to play for your loved one. Again, thanks to everyone for your responses! I really appreciate it!

Prince - Batdance Bootleg 12"

I was ripping some old cassettes from my tape trading days today and wanted to get this one transferred since most digital rips of this version of Batdance seem to be slightly incomplete. I got this tape back in 1993 and it came with two megamixes. All three tracks were released on a bootleg 12", or at least that's what I was told because I've never seen a photo or scan of the record. Regardless, the audio quality of the tracks are great, the unreleased, original version of Batdance is awesome and the Good Vs. Evil Mix is a really interesting idea that includes tracks from the Batman soundtrack and the Black Album. The last track, the so-called Ultimate Prince Megamix, is about fifteen minutes long and goes on quite a bit longer than I'd like for it to, but it and the GVE mix are both very clearly of professional grade, most likely from a group like Razormaid or Ultimix. Madhouse, There Are No Kings and The Christmas Present

Hopefully everyone is having a good Thanksgiving weekend. I worked Black Friday and did something terrible to my ankle so I'm sitting around in agony, but I can't rest for too long so here is a big post I've been promising!

So I said I would post all the non-album Madhouse tracks and I'm following through with that promise. At the bottom of this post you can download all seven officially released Madhouse tracks that didn't end up on any of their albums as well as the 1993 version of 24, both in FLAC and V0 MP3. 17, the track, is from the 1-800-NEW-FUNK compilation but doesn't appear on the unreleased 1993 version of 24, whereas the other six were released on 12" singles in 1987. Those six are not my rips, rather they're taken from a torrent I found on Demonoid with one hundred Prince side-project singles and remixes. I've tweaked those files a bit as they had a lot of unnecessary silence, were kind of quiet and had some clicks and pops, so I ran them through iZotope RX's automatic declicker, normalized them to -.25db and edited them a bit. I don't know who posted the tracks on Demonoid but big credit to them for their hard work. I also normalized 17 but no other work was done to that track.

As for There Are No Kings, the plan is to create Homemade Deluxe Editions for all of Prince's albums from 1978 through 1992. The hope is to use vinyl rips for the main albums and the best available sources for all additional tracks with credit given to any of the source providers. As of now I have original US vinyl pressings of all Prince albums from 1978's For You through 1988's Lovesexy, an official 1994 German pressing of The Black Album, original US pressing of the Vanity 6 album and a few other minor tidbits. DJ Richie P from the Fun With Vinyl blog had also offered to help me with some of the side-project vinyl releases by ripping them for the project and letting me use the rips posted on his sites for which he will receive all credit. Squirrelgrease is handling the art for the Ridiculously Deluxe Edition of Sign O' The Times but I know he's a busy guy so he might not be able to help out with the other posts, so we'll see how that works out. Regarding other Prince releases that myself and Richie don't have, if anyone has vinyl copies of the following albums and would be happy to do vinyl rips it would be much appreciated and you would be thanked and credited for your contributions.

As of right now, the only other things approaching completion are a two disc version of the Purple Rain album and a minor revision of the version of Lovesexy I posted at The Unheard Music.
