Here's some brutal straight-edge from Sweden. Stay Hungry are originally from Göteborg and from what I know they have one demo and two LP, the latest of which you can hear below. Fans of Confront, Uniform Choice and Bane will definitely like them
Another great portuguese hardcore band from Faro. Pointing Finger is one of the best-known hardcore bands in and outside of Portugal. They've released one album, Milestone, a couple of 7”s and a demo which you can find below. They officially split in 2007 with members of the band forming side projects namely Broken Distance and Pressure. For fans of Youth Of Today, Chain Of Strength, Count Me Out.
Well since I stumbled accidentally upon Reaching Hand (which is now one of my fav bands) I became more and more interested in portuguese hardcore. This curiosity of mine led to another great finding. From Faro, Portugal comes this damn good sXe hardcore band that makes awesome old-school hardcore influenced by band like Youth Of Today, Gorilla Biscuits and Bold. So far it seems that they have one demo from 2009 and an EP, Trial & Error, both records released via Commitment Records.
Here's a band that no longer exist. Which is a shame giving the fact that they were really good. Pure melodic straight edge hardcore coming from Plovdiv, Bulgaria that had it's small but loyal fanbase. Unfortunately they were active for about two years and earlier this year they disbanded. During this short period they've managed to record and release a four-song EP titled "Blindness" which showcases their raw talent. The EP grabs the attention with it's melodic riffs and conscience lyrics touching as such topics like politics, environment and the overcoming of everyday hardships. Their music feels very angsty and angry at time which adds to their overall dark tone of their music. And yet positive attitude seems to encompass this band despite some darker songs. Definitely a good band with lots to offer.
What can I say. We got japanese ska, chinese punk and now is time for some korean hardcore. And I mean real, brutal sXe in-your-face hardcore like you've never expected from a country like South Korea. To be honest that's not surprising as the koreans got a really strong hardcore scene which is part of the wider and vibrant asian scene. Now back to the topic. Three words: Things We Say, a four-piece sXe hardcore band from Seoul, South Korea. It is obvious that they're influenced by the likes of Minor Threat, Gorilla Biscuit and Youth Of Today which can be seen in their lyrics. The band released in 2004 it's first recording, a four-song demo and in 2007 it's first album titled "OUR DECISIONS" containing 12 songs. TWS is present in couple of compilations. Apparently their music got recognition outside Korea evidence for which is the gact that they were support for Strike Anywhere's 2010 korean tour. The old-school hardcore spirit in Korea is definitely alive with this band.
