Los Angeles, November 2019: Blade Runner Ambiance

I don't know who is responsible for this incredible release other than their association with Esper Productions, but kudos to them for their incredible work. This CD was issued in 2003 and features ambient sound from the film Blade Runner. I love Philip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? but equally adore Ridley Scott's Blade Runner and it's associated ephemera. Vangelis isn't one of my favorites but his score is beautiful, transcendent and mystifying, though the absence of the peculiar sounds and effects throughout the proper soundtrack leaves me wanting more. The answer is this remarkable collection for whom the responsible party is unknown, at least to my knowledge and, as far as I can tell, outside of whatever private circle of fans and collectors this originated from. Whether this was meant to remain a secret or not, some secrets are just too good to keep to oneself. Put this on, close the door, lower the shades and slip into a future that will never come.
