Sufjan Stevens

If you're not familiar with Sufjan Stevens, be forewarned, it's easy to get sucked into his universe. He's a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who experiments in just about any musical field he wants, from experimental instrumental electronic works to beautiful folk pieces and orchestral pop. He also seems to genuinely love making and performing music. Even if you don't like everything he does you have to give him credit for being serious about his craft. Easy starting points for Sufjan are the wonderful Illinois and The Avalanche, although my personal favorite is Enjoy Your Rabbit, his electronic record with orchestral and live flourishes throughout. But if you haven't heard any of his works yet, you're about to enter the tsunami!

Mr. Stevens has recently released the album length EP, All Delighted People, which is available for digital purchase for the low price of five dollars, and has a new album due for release on October 12th named The Age Of Adz. It's a little hard to describe how wonderful Sufjan's music is though so he's made the wonderful decision to make two tracks from The Age Of Adz available for download for the even more affordable price of, uh..., FREE! Yes, you can get two songs from his forthcoming album for free in lossless, MP3 or just about any variation you could want right now via his Bandcamp page!

I've put links below for the Bandcamp pages for the two songs, I Walked and Too Much, as well as a link to the All Delighted People EP. You can also get many of Sufjan's other releases there as well for prices varying from five to eight dollars. So, if you fall in love with those two tracks and don't want to wait till October 12th you can grab one of his other fantastic albums now!

So what are you waiting for? Get over there and get those two songs, they're jawdroppers and hopefully an indication of how great The Age Of Adz will be. Enjoy!
